Welcome to Elvington Beavers

Beavers (6–8)

Beaver Scouts are our youngest members, for children aged between 6 and 8 years. Our Beaver colony meets on a Tuesday evening during school term time, usually at the Elvington Scout Hut. Beavers can earn lots of badges through our exciting and interesting programme, which includes learning new skills, crafts and other creative activities, playing games, visiting new places and trying outdoor pursuits.

Beavers have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.

Elvington Beavers take part in activities with other Beavers from City of York District and the whole of North Yorkshire, so there are plenty of opportunities to make new friends.

• Annie is the part of the District Leadership team and the North Yorkshire County events team.

Ben has been a member of the Elvington Scout Group since he joined the Beavers when he was six. As well as being part of the Beaver team, he is an Explorer Leader, he has held roles at both District and County levels and is an archery instructor for the Scout activity centre at Snowball Plantation.
